Under a competitively awarded framework agreement BLIP Ltd has successfully delivered a series of highly practical training programmes aimed at providing knowledge and procurement skills for Council & PCT officers with either, a central or devolved strategic procurement role and responsibility. The initial programme was delivered to about 150 officials in Coventry City & Warwickshire County Councils; each person attended the 4 core modules and at least 2 of the 7 specialist modules.
The training programme is CPD accredited and delegates may claim Continued Professional Development credits as well as Continued Personal Development credits where their annual appraisal scheme is supportive.
Also, the training programme has been used by Milton Keynes Council, the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall and the Borough of Telford & Wrekin as well as being adopted by the West Midlands Regional Improvement & Efficiency Partnership (WMRIEP) through which it has been opened up to delegates from other authorities across the West Midlands.
This programme is now available as an open programme so it is possible for individual delegates from local authorities, PCTs and the NHS to participate. Ideally, delegates should attend the whole of the Core Programme and then undertake Specialist Modules on an elective basis. Each module is of one day duration and there is a financial incentive for booking the whole programme or for multiple bookings for a number of delegates. The module titles are:
