Export Risks – credit insurance, finance & INCOTERMS
Aims
The aim is to provide delegates with an awareness of the risks
encountered and the risk mitigation techniques to be applied when
buying or selling outside the EC.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the
module, the delegates will have been afforded an opportunity to gain an
understanding of the principles which are essential to the effective
management of the export contracting process. The delegates will
understand the additional commercial, financial and political risks
when conducting business outside the EC. They will be aware of the
methodologies for mitigating the probability of the occurrence of such
risks and/or mitigating the impact of the risks through sound and
effective export management practice. The delegates will be introduced
to the concept of letters of credit and payment bonds and some specific
export contract terms & conditions. The delegates will understand
the use of INCOTERMS to define transfer of title and risk.
